Rwanda is home to more than 700 bird species, with 29 Albertine Rift endemics, in various habitats, including savannah and montane forest. With its islands, various accommodation facilities near Lake Kivu, and surrounding farmlands and vegetations, the Kivu Belt region hosts an impressive number of bird species, such as the White-breasted Cormorants Double-toothed Barbet, Yellow-bellied Waxbill, Palm-nut vulture, African Fish Eagle.
